Tours to Volendam from Amsterdam
There are different companies offering guided tours from Amsterdam to Volendam. We recommend:

How to get to Volendam from Amsterdam by public transport?
You need to take a bus line 316 which departs from Amsterdam/CS IJzijde station. The bus station is located behind Amsterdam Centraal train station, one level up behind platforms 14 and 15 (there will be signs, so it’s hard to get lost).

How to get to Volendam from Amsterdam by car?
Take the A10 ring road direction Zaandam/Zaanstad. Then follow the N247 to Volendam. To get to the centre of Volendam, take the N517 road.
Volendam has four free parkings:
- Parkeerterrein Marinapark
- Parkeerterrein Slobbeland
- Parkeerterrein Parallelweg
- Parkeerterrein Hotel Spaander.
How to get from Volendam to Marken?
Probably the nicest way to get from Volendam to Marken is by ferry boat. The Volendam-Marken Express operates a ferry service between Volendam and Marken all year round, except for when the lake is frozen.
The Volendam – Marken ferry tickets are available at the departure points and online:
- Adult – Return – € 13,50
- Adult – One way – € 8,75
- Child (4-11) – Return – € 5,75
- Child (4-11) – One way – € 4,25

Alternatively you can get from Volendam from Marken by bus. Get on a bus line 316 (direction Amsterdam) and take a ride to Broek in Waterland, Dorp bus stop. By the way, this little village is also a great place to visit!
In Broek in Waterland you will need to change bus (on the opposite side of the road) to line 315 (direction Marken). Check the bus schedule from Volendam to Marken via the Glimble app:
Is it possible to visit Volendam and the Zaanse Schans in one day?
In general, yes. But if you look at the map you can see these two villages are located in the different directions from Amsterdam. If you travel by public transport, you will need to travel via Amsterdam which will take more than an hour. We recommend to join a bus tour to the Zaanse Schans, Volendam and Marken and travel with more comfort.
