Where is Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket valid?
ARTT is valid for unlimited travel by bus, night bus, tram, metro and train in Amsterdam and surrounding areas. This includes bus line 397 from Schiphol Airport to the center of Amsterdam, and the train from Schiphol to any station in Amsterdam.

Is Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket worth it?
If you’re planning to visit the most popular places in the Amsterdam area, ARTT will save you lots of money. For example, if you buy separate tickets, in 2026 they will cost:
- 3 days ticket for public transport in Amsterdam – € 21,50
- return bus ticket from Amsterdam RAI to Keukenhof – € 18,20
- train ticket (return) from Amsterdam to Zandvoort – € 14,60
- return bus ticket to Volendam – € 5,76 x 2
- two-way train ticket from and to the Schiphol airport – € 5,50 x 2
Total: € 76,82 without ARTT. With ARTT you will pay € 44 for three days.
Traveling to Keukenhof with ARTT in 2026
During the Keukenhof opening season the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket is also valid on bus lines:
- 852 (Amsterdam RAI – Keukenhof)
- 859 (Hoofddorp – Keukenhof)
- 850 (station Haarlem – Keukenhof).
Please note: in 2026, there is no direct bus line 858 from Schiphol to Keukenhof.
Using the ARTT gives you even more advantages compared to the Keukenhof combi-ticket. With ARTT you don’t need to choose departure time and can be flexible. Just make sure you book Keukenhof entrance tickets in advance.
How long is ARTT ticket valid?
Tickets/ passes are valid for 1, 2 or 3 calendar days. The ticket is valid from the first time you check in until 04:00 hours after the last valid day.

How to use the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket?
After you order the Amsterdam & Region Ticket, you can collect it from a variety of locations, including on arrival at Schiphol Airport. Travel from Schiphol to Amsterdam (both by train and Amsterdam Airport Express bus) and back is included in this ticket.
The ARTT is a single-use smart ticket (called an OV-chipkaart). You have to check in and out with your card every time you enter and leave a bus, tram, train or metro. Learn more about using public transport in Amsterdam.

Is the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket the best choice for me?
If you’re planning to explore the surroundings of Amsterdam (Volendam, Zaanse Schans, Haarlem, etc.), then the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket is the best choice. If you plan to make only short trips or focus mainly on sightseeing in Amsterdam, then other travel tickets and passes can possibly be a better value for the price.

Is there a special Amsterdam & Region Ticket for children?
No, unfortunately ARTT is not available as a kids ticket. You can only buy it at the full price.
The good news is that children younger than 4 can use public transport in the Netherlands for free. And children from 4 to 11 years old travel at a reduced price. Every transportation company has a separate ticket for kids. Those are mostly daily tickets:
- in Amsterdam a daily GVB kids ticket costs € 5
- NS (train) daily ticket called Railrunner costs € 2,50
- Connexxion bus ticket for children costs € 1,00 a day.

Is ARTT valid to Keukenhof?
Yes, during the Keukenhof opening season ARTT is valid on bus lines 852 (Amsterdam RAI – Keukenhof), 859 (Hoofddorp – Keukenhof) and 850 (Haarlem station – Keukenhof). I have an ARTT pass and I’m already visiting Zaanse Schans and Haarlem – where else is worth going?
Great choice, both are easily covered by your ARTT. A few other day trips worth adding while your pass is still valid: Volendam and Marken, the fishing-village duo on the IJsselmeer that you can combine in one afternoon, and Zandvoort, Amsterdam’s closest beach town, about 30 minutes away by train. All of these, plus Haarlem and Zaanse Schans which you’ve already picked, fall within ARTT’s region, so you won’t need to buy anything extra to reach them.
Is there a children’s ARTT ticket?
No, ARTT is only sold at full price. Children under 4 travel for free, and children aged 4-11 can use a discounted ticket instead, such as the GVB kids ticket (€ 5 a day) or the NS Railrunner (€ 2,50 a day).
Is ARTT the same as the I amsterdam City Card?
No. The I amsterdam City Card includes free entry to 70+ museums and attractions plus free public transport within Amsterdam. ARTT is transport-only, but it covers a wider region, including day trips to places like Haarlem, Volendam, Zaanse Schans and Keukenhof.
