SAIL Amsterdam is one of the biggest nautical events in the world. It is organized in Amsterdam once every five years. The next edition of SAIL will take place on 20 – 24 August 2025. This year Amsterdam will celebrate its own 750th anniversary with the 10th edition of SAIL Amsterdam.

In August 2025 around 800 ships from 21 countries will sail into Amsterdam through the Noordzeekanaal and will stay for 5 days in Amsterdam’s IJ-haven. Check all participating ships #SAIL2025 >>

• Tip! Book SAIL 2025 tickets in advance as they have limited availability. We really enjoyed the evening cruise on a small luxury boat with Starboard Amsterdam. They also have day tours on the same boats.

SAIL Amsterdam 2025 Tickets

In general SAIL Amsterdam is a free event. There is no admission fee for visiting the ships. You can also watch the tall ships parade and concerts for free. But if you want to SAIL on a boat, you need a ticket.

Book your SAIL tickets at the websites of official SAIL partners Lovers.nl and Tiqets.com and GetYourGuide.

SAIL 2025 tickets prices:

The sale of sailing tickets for boat tours during SAIL Amsterdam 2025 is live! If you want to get a SAIL front-row experience, you need a ticket. Tickets for SAIL 2025 cruises are already for sale:

• cruise boat tickets (60 minutes) – from € 32,50
• open boat cruise with a drink – from €47,50

• SAIL drinks and bites cruise (100 minutes) – from € 90
• SAIL evening cruise with fireworks (2 hours) – from € 110

SAIL starts with the iconic SAIL-In Parade, where numerous Tall Ships and historic ships sail into Amsterdam.

You can also join cruises during the SAIL-In or SAIL-Out Parade:

• SAIL-IN: the entry of tall ships (2 hours, including 2 drinks) – from € 99.
• SAIL-OUT: closing ceremony cruise (2 hours, including 2 drinks) – from € 99.

Visit SAIL Amsterdam 2025

SAIL Amsterdam is one of the biggest events in Amsterdam. In 5 days over 2 million people visit the city to see the tall ships. Most of the visitors stay overnight. Make sure you book a hotel in advance.

Tip: pick a hotel located on the edge of the River IJ, and you’ll have a view on the tall ships from your room window.
