Tips for Visiting the Flower Parade
What is the best place to watch the Flower parade?
Anastasia’s advice: I would suggest watching the arrival of the Flower Parade in Haarlem. It looks really festive at night, with music accompanying the event. Ideally, I would also stay overnight in Haarlem and then see all the floats again early in the morning (until 10:00 – 10:30, before it gets crowded).
How do I get to Bloemencorso Bollenstreek Flower Parade?
Many visitors like to combine a trip to Keukenhof with the Flower Parade in one day. However, we recommend choosing a different location, such as Sassenheim, Hillegom, or Heemstede, to enjoy the parade at its best.
On the day of Parade it is very busy in Keukenhof and roads around the park will be closed from 14:00 to 17:00. You will not be able to enter or leave Keukenhof parking during this time.
Keukenhof shuttle buses from Amsterdam will also operate on the Flower Parade. We recommend to book tickets in advance as the tickets on the Flower parade day are likely to sell out.

Viewing the Flower Parade at its final destination, in Haarlem, is a great option as well. It’s the most spectacular in the evening, when the platforms with flowers arrive to the city center. We recommend to book a hotel in Haarlem and enjoy the flower parade at its fullest. There are also way more nice more things to do in Haarlem!

FAQ: Dutch Flower Parade
When is the Dutch Flower Parade in 2027?
The main parade takes place on Saturday 17 April 2027, travelling from Noordwijk to Haarlem. There’s also an illuminated evening parade in Noordwijkerhout on Friday 16 April, and the floats stay on display in Haarlem through Sunday 18 April.
Is it free to watch the Flower Parade?
Yes, you can watch the parade for free by standing along the route. If you want a guaranteed, comfortable spot, tribune seats are available from around €27,50, though popular locations like Lisse, Sassenheim, and Hillegom sell out quickly.
What is the best place to watch the Flower Parade?
Haarlem, the parade’s final destination in the evening, is a popular choice – it’s festive and accompanied by music when the floats arrive. Staying overnight in Haarlem also lets you see the floats again the next morning before it gets crowded. Alternatively, Sassenheim, Hillegom, or Heemstede tend to be less chaotic than the area right around Keukenhof.
How do I get to the Flower Parade?
Many visitors combine the parade with a Keukenhof visit, but roads around Keukenhof close from 14:00 to 17:00 on parade day, and parking access is blocked during that window. Shuttle buses run from Amsterdam, but book in advance as they tend to sell out on parade day.
Is there an evening or illuminated version of the parade?
Yes – on Friday evening (16 April 2027), the illuminated floats parade through Noordwijkerhout starting around 21:00, a separate event from the main Saturday parade.
Do I need a separate ticket for Keukenhof on the parade day?
Yes. Keukenhof requires its own timed-entry ticket regardless of the parade, and a limited number of visitors are allowed per day. Parade days are especially popular, so book your Keukenhof slot well in advance.

Could you plese inform me on the route for the Bloemncorso 25 April 2020. I cannot find it on the net.
Hi Bas, the route for the Bloemencorso 2020 is not published yet. But here is the route for 2019 – https://bloemencorso-bollenstreek.nl/en/programma/corsoroute/ The route and timing are approximately the same each year.
I am coming the weekend after this and wondering if what they do with the floats after Sunday? Can we still see them?
Hi Skye,
Usually by the end of the day on Sunday the floats already look pretty tired, the flowers are fading fast. So my guess is that they go back to Sassenheim for deconstruction. They are unfortunatelly not available for the public after Sunday.
