Coming to Volendam by car? Good news: Volendam offers three free parking areas for cars. Quite unusual for the Netherlands! Here, you’ll find free parking addresses and other important tips for planning your visit to Volendam by car.

Where can I park for free in Volendam?

Free parking at Parkeerterrein Marinapark

• Address: Strandweg 1, 1131 PM Volendam
• Capacity: 300 cars

Marinapark is the largest parking lot in Volendam. It is located at the vacations park Roompot Marinapark and has space for over 300 cars. One advantage of this parking area is that you don’t have to drive through the center of Volendam. Marinapark is located on the right as you enter Volendam. It’s just a 10-minute walk from this parking lot to Volendam’s harbor.

Please note: Some spots near reception are marked with the blue line. These are meant only for short-term parking of max 3 hours. At other spots on this parking you can park longer.

Free parking at Parkeerterrein Slobbeland

• Address: Slobbeland 2, 1131 AB Volendam
• Capacity: 90 cars

This parking lot is located next to the Slobbeland recreational area, a popular summer spot for locals. From here, you can walk along the Markermeer and to the Volendam’s harbor in just 5 minutes.

Free parking at Parkeerterrein Parallelweg

• Address: Parallelweg 2, 1131 DM Volendam
• Capacity: 125 cars

This parking lot also offers paid parking for motorhomes and coach buses.

Tip: be careful not to park in places marked for permit holders.

Paid parking in Volendam

There are also three paid parking locations in Volendam – two parking garages and one hotel parking:

• Parkeergarage Centrum Volendam at Boegstraat 2a 1131 ZB Volendam. Prices in 2025 – first hour € 1, maximum daily rate € 19,50
• Parkeergarage Havenhof at Zeestraat 21, 1131 ZD Volendam. Prices in 2025 – € 0,50 for the first half hour, then € 1 per half hour. Maximum daily rate is € 30.
• Parkeerterrein Hotel Spaander. Prices in 2025 – € 5 per hour. Price for the hotel guests is € 15 per day. To access the parking area behind Hotel Spaander, please be aware of time windows during which you are allowed to enter and exit via Noordeinde.

Tips!

• You can also travel from Amsterdam to Volendam by R-NET bus 316.
• For more convenience, we recommend joining a bus tour to the Zaanse Schans, Volendam and Marken. This 6-hour tour also includes a ferry boat ride across the IJsselmeer from Volendam to Marken.
