Amsterdam Light Festival 2021/2022: Celebrate Light!
|Amsterdam Light Festival is a winter outdoor festival of modern art, light and water. Dozens of historical buildings in the center of Amsterdam will be glittering with colour in the dark, letting the visitors feel the Christmas spirit.
This year the center of Amsterdam will be illimunated with the light artworks for the 10th edition of Amsterdam Light Festival from 2 December 2021 to 23 January 2022.
Important! Due to the new COVID measures, the festival has adjusted hours. In the morning, 21 out of the 23 light artworks will be on between 7:00 and 9:00. In the afternoon, all 23 artworks will be switched on between 15:00 and 22:00. Canal cruises depart at 15:30.

The artworks are located alongside two different exhibition routes: Water Colors, the boat route and Illuminade, the walking route. Each route has an own theme and exposition of artworks.

What to do:
- Take a canal cruise (from € 26,50). From the waters of Amsterdam you will have the best views of the light artworks. In a comfortable, heated canal boat you’ll listen to the audio guide and from an open boat you can experience the artworks form up-close. Get your cruise tickets now!
- Take the Light Walk, the Amsterdam Light Festival 2 km walking route that runs through the Plantage and Weesperbuurt. You can get a digital map, containing all the locations and descriptions of the light artworks. Route map (you can read the artwork descriptions from your mobile device) costs € 7,50 and audio guide (you can listen to the stories) costs € 15.
