Who can visit the Rijksmuseum for free?
Entrance to the Rijksmuseum is free for children and youth under 18. Admission is also free with a valid I amsterdam City Card, Dutch Museumkaart, VriendenLoterij VIP-KAART or a Rembrandtkaart. Please remember to book a time slot in advance, even if you have a discount card.

Tip! In May 2026 the I amsterdam City Card has introduced a new type of pass, I amsterdam City Card Explorer: Special Edition (from € 44). Instead of paying for 24 – 120 hours, you can pay for 3 or 5 attractions. The price for 3 attractions is € 44 (and for example if you buy separate tickets for the Rijksmuseum + Rembrandt house + Artis Zoo, you pay € 27 + € 23,50 + € 23,50 = € 83). This pass is also available for children.
