April is a great time for visiting Keukenhof. If you were wondering what is the best time to visit Keukenhof, we would say it’s the second half of April.
Will we see full tulips in Keukenhof in April? Is beginning of April not too early for the fulip fields? Is it worth it to take a day trip to Keukenof? Travellers who are planning their trip to the Netherlands in spring, have lots of questions.
March 2025 has been pretty cold in the Netherlands, so the blooming season is starting slightly later. The best time to visit Keukenhof in 2025 is after 10 April.
Please take into account that lots of people are postponing their visit until the peak season. We recommend booking your tickets in advance. If entrance tickets are sold out, check the Keukenhof entrance + shuttle bus tickets or Keukenhof combi tickets (entrance + public transport).
Update: Keukenhof entrance tickets for the Easter weekend (19-21 April 2025) are almost sold out. Check Keukenhof combi tickets or entrance + transfer tickets at Tiqets.com, GetYourGuide or Tours & Tickets.

Planning a trip to see the tulip festival and blooming fields as well as the flower parade in Keukenhof. This will be in Spring of 2025 or 2026. Our daughter wi be part of a study abroad semester as a horticulture student. There will be 3 of us coming from the USA and then she will travel with us once we are there. I am trying to get an idea of cost so we can start preparing for this trip. Would also like VanGogh museum, see windmills, and helicopter over the tulip fields. I’m sure there are many wonderful sights that I will find to go see before then, but I think that’s a good start. So, approximate airfare, hotel expenses, food, etc. are requested.
Thank you!!
Hi Deb,
This website can give you an idea of costs for museums and attractions, like the Van Gogh museum, windmills, helicopter over the tulip fields, and many more.
Accomodation prices in Amsterdam, at more or less decent hotels, start from 100 euro a night. You can also check hotels closer to Keukenhof and tulip fields, there can be cheaper options in that area – https://holland-explorer.com/keukenhof-hotels/
Here you can also find more information about prices (for transport, food etc) in the Netherlands – https://holland-explorer.com/amsterdam-prices/
Good luck with planning your trip!
